France interested to construct cable car from Bishnumati to Bouddhanath

Cable CarKathmandu / Aug 15: The French Government has expressed its intent to construct a cable car from the origin of Bishnumati Sapantirtha to the Bouddha Stupa.

French Ambassador Yves Carmona expressed the interest of his government in course of a meeting with Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ramesh Lekhak held at the Ministry on Monday.

Chief of Foreign Affairs Coordination Division at the Ministry and Joint Secretary Bishnu Om Badhe shared that a feasibility study was carried out in regard to the operation of a cable car on the route with the financial and technical assistance of French government one and a half month ago.

Nepal and French governments established diplomatic relations in 1959. Extending gratefulness to the French government for its assistance to undertake feasibility study of a cable car from Bishnumati to Bouddhanath, Minister Lekhak also said the government was looking forward to support from the French government to initiate the cable car construction process.
