Pun to launch door-to-door campaign for invention centre

Mahabir Pun sharing his thoughts on education in NepalParbat / Aug 21: A door-to-door campaign has been launched to set up National Invention Centre. The Magsaysay award winner, Mahavir Pun, took the decision to launch the campaign after he did not receive support from the government after repeated request.

The era belongs to science and technology so the country cannot run without it, Pun said at an interactive programme held at Kushma Bazaar of Parbat on Saturday. No matter how much the government talks of economic revolution the country will not make a leap forward without the development of science and technology and this is the reason we have started the door-to-door campaign to open an invention centre, Pun added.

He spoke of the urgency in establishing an invention centre to make use of the abundance of possibilities and resources which have remained neglected in want of necessary research and study.

The establishment of the centre will cost around Rs 400 to 500 million. The fund collected from the people added with the loan from the banks will be used to construct 10 megawatt hydro power project to generate proceeds for setting up the centre. RSS
