Training on astrology in Kathmandu

PunditKathmandu / Aug 24: The Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Samiti, a government entity to approve lunar and solar-based calendars, has conducted training on astrology and religious ceremonies in the Capital.

The six-month training starting from the Nepali month of Asadh this year is attended by 39 people interested in pursuing astrology and performing various traditional and religious ceremonies.

The Samiti Chairman Prof Dr Ram Chandra Gautam said that the training aims at producing qualified priests amid the increasing number of people pursuing astrology and various traditional processions.

The trainers include Gautam, Prof Sri Krishna Adhikari, Prof Dr Dev Mani Bhattarai, Prof Mangal Das Pradhananga, Purushottam Bhattarai, Upendra Bhattarai and Narottam Bhattarai among others. The admission fee is Rs 2,000 per person. RSS
