Tax revision recommendation committee formed

BIratnagarMorang / Aug 26: In a bid to resolve the problem resulted from house and land tax increment in Biratnagar, a tax revision recommendation committee has been formed on the initiative of Biratnagar Sub-metropolis.

Economist Dr Bhesh Prasad Dhamala is chairing the committee. The Biratnagar Sub-metropolis was compelled to form a tax revision committee as a result of pressure created from massive media coverage of news for the past couple of months on the topics.

The committee comprising representatives of political parties, Tole organizations and law practitioners is mandated to provide recommendations and inputs to the Sub-metropolis within a week.

According to Executive Officer of Sub-metropolis Gopal Prasad Regmi, the 15-member committee will take stock the trouble caused by the tax increment to the general public and suggest to the government about the tax threshold.

Nepali Congress Biratnagar President Bhim Parajuli said the protest against the tax rate increment has been put off for now and called for the town people to pay necessary tax to the sub-metropolis within a week. RSS
