President Bhandari underscores human rights promotion

Kathmandu / Dec 10: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has underscored the protection and promotion of human rights with the implementation of constitution.

Giving a best wishes message on the occasion of the Human Rights Day, today, President Bhandari said the fundamental rights and human rights provisions in the constitution are for the prosperity of the country.

“It’s a matter of happiness that the constitution has made National Human Rights Commission a constitutional body. Similarly, even the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and Commission on Inquiry of Enforced Disappeared Persons have been formed to bolster human rights in the country,” she added in the message.
