Implementation of constitution emphasized to ensure good governance

Kathmandu / Dec 10: Leaders of various political parties taking part in a discourse organized by the Human Rights and Peace Society here on Saturday have pressed for bringing into effect the new constitution to ensure good governance and transparency in the country.

At the programme organized on the occasion of the 68th Human Rights Day, Nepali Congress leader Dr Minendra Rijal stressed the need for the country to head by securing goodwill and cooperation from our immediate neighbors India and China rather than politicizing on anti-India and anti-China thoughts.

Similarly, CPN-UML’s Bharat Mohan Adhikari argued that the new constitution does not mandate to consider amendment in the delineation of federal provinces.

CPN-Maoist Centre leader Ram Narayan Bidari accused the CPN-UML for projecting dual character by objecting the amendment of delineation of Province No 5 as an anti-national move which was proposed by the same party during its Chairman led government.

Likewise, Federal Socialist Forum Co-chair Rajendra Shrestha clarified that his party has demanded for government system that is of inclusive democratic properties.

Sadbhawana Party’s senior Vice-Chair Narsingh Chaudhary urged the government to reach a logical conclusion by understanding the sentiments and aspirations of the public rather than obeying the decision of the major political parties. RSS
