Energy Minister urges Three Gorges to begin West Seti project

hydropower projectKathmandu / Jan 13: Minister for Energy Janardan Sharma has urged the officials from Three Gorges Company of China to immediately begin West Seti Project.

During a meeting with the Three Gorges representatives at the Ministry on Friday, Minister Sharma said holding the project without bringing any improvement did not give good message to the people.

Although a preliminary agreement was made between the government and the Chinese company on investment and construction of the project five years back, the construction is yet to begin.

The Minister informed the Chinese delegation that the Ministry was ready to make preparations from its side. So, the Three Gorges should engage in construction, he stressed. RSS
