Traffic to remain suspended for six hours a day along Narayangadh-Muglin road

Narayangadh Mugling HighwayChitwan / March 21: Vehicular movement along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section is to come to a halt for six hours daily to expedite the ongoing road upgrading task so that it can be completed before the arrival of the rainy season. The new provision will come into effect from March 28.

Presently, vehicles are prevented from plying on the 36- kilometre section from 10:30 am to 3 pm (four and half hours) in a day in view of the ongoing road widening works. The decision to increase the duration for the suspension of traffic movement by an additional one and half hours is aimed at making the works more effective, according to project’s Engineer Shiva Khanal.

The project in cooperation with the local administration plans to complete earthmoving works and construction of other important structures before the start of the rainy season.

Chitwan’s Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhatta said the plans have been set to complete works relating to major road structures by the end of May to avert possible problems resulting from rains in the widening efforts. Around 7000 vehicles ply on the road every day. RSS
