World Social Work Day 2017 marked amidst various programs

Social Work DayKathmandu / Mar 22: The World Social Work Day 2017 was celebrated in Nepal by organizing different programs on March 21.

People from different walks of life like social workers, students and other participated in the programme celebrated with the theme of ‘Promoting Community and Environmental Sustainability’.

Kadambari Memorial College, which has been running Bachelors in Social Work, has also celebrated the day with different programs. The college organized a rally before organizing various programs like poster competition, poster exhibition and dramas on the theme of social work.

Addressing the event organized by the college various speakers highlighted the need of working together for with the communities for environmental sustainability. Chief of the College, Pradipta Kadambari, informed that the college has been undertaking different initiatives as part of its social responsibility along with providing quality education to the students.

The college has been organizing various programs to mark the day since its establishment in 2005. The college has been involved in different social works and supporting the needy people. The college offered counselling service to the earthquake affected people after the massive earthquake of April 2015.
