EC urges to ensure security provision for election

Election CommissionKathmandu / Mar 6: The Election Commission (EC) has directed the security bodies to ensure prompt security provision for the upcoming presidential election.

A high-level election security committee’s meeting held in the EC on Tuesday issued such directive to the security bodies.

The presidential election is being held on March 13.

During the meeting, Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhee Prasad Yadav thanked the security bodies for their contribution to make all levels of elections in a free, fair and credible manner.

On the occasion, Election Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Shah asked the security bodies to provide security in order to conduct the presidential elections in a flawless manner.

Likewise, Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Mohan Krishna Sapkota and other officials pledged to leave no stone unturned to conduct the election to the post of the president in a free and fair manner.

Election Commissioners Ila Sharma, Narendra Dahal, Ishowri Prasad Poudyal, Secretary at the EC Begendra Raj Sharma Poudyal, Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Binod KC and chiefs of security bodies were also present at the meeting. RSS
