SA meeting passes Provincial Assembly Working Procedure Rules, 2074

Federal StatesDhangadhi / March 10: State Assembly meeting of Province 7 on Saturday passed the Provincial Assembly Working Procedure Rules, 2018.

The Rules endorsement acted on the proposal forwarded by Liladhar Bhatta, SA member and the Provincial Regulation Draft Committee Chairperson with the permission from Speaker Arjun Bahadur Thapa.

The proposal was supported by CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Mahesh Datta Joshi and Nepali Congress leader Tek Bahadur Raika Aauji.

In a clause-wise discussion on the proposal, SA member Bharat Bahadur Khadka put his view on three points of the Regulation.

The rules have incorporated the provisions relating to the calling of State Assembly’s session and its prorogation, presence of State Assembly members, procedures about the chairing of a meeting, taking of oath and secrecy, the process for the presentation of bills of subordinate committees and presentation of province government policies and programmes, among others.

Prior to this, with the commencement of the meeting, CPN (Maoist Center)’s Kunti Joshi, Rastriya Janata Party’s Malamati Rana and CPN (UML)’s Purna Joshi condemned the abuse against one 20-year-old Radhika Chaudhary on the charge of witchery, drawing the attention of the parliament towards ensuring appropriate compensation to the victim, medical treatment and stern action against perpetrator(s).
