Bangladeshi Minister calls on Home Minister Thapa
Kathmandu / Mar 14: Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism of Bangladesh, AKM Shahjahan Kamal on Wednesday has called on Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa to discuss about the US-Bangla passenger airplane crash at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Monday.
During the meeting held at Home Minster’s Office, Singha Durbar, Minister Thapa extended his profound sorrow over the loss of valuable lives in the crash involving the Bangladeshi airliner.
Home minister apprised the Bangladeshi Minister who arrived at Kathmandu on Tuesday leading a high-level delegation that the Nepal government had already formed a probe committee to look into the matter.
Likewise, the Minister of Bangladesh said they were deeply saddened by the loss of precious lives in the crash and thanked the Nepal Government for its prompt response to it. He added that they had felt no lacking in the rescue efforts made by Nepal, following the crash.
As stated by him, he had earlier visited 10 Bangladeshi nationals who were on board the ill-fated aircraft at Kathmandu Medical College, Norvic International Hospital and OM Hospital where they are undergoing treatment and is satisfied over the care provided for them.
“The family of one injured from Bangladesh who is receiving treatment at OM Hospital wants to take the patient to Singapore for further treatment and orthopedicians and medical specialists for burn injuries from Bangladesh wish to visit Nepal to assist treatment in those injured in the crash,” the Bangladeshi Minister informed Minister Thapa,
In response, the Home Minister said that Nepal was ready to facilitate the process if it was proceeded through the Nepal-based Embassy of Bangladesh.
The two ministers agreed on facilitating the investigations into the incident from both sides and take elaborate measures so as to avoid such incident from recurring in the future. RSS
