Judicial Council relieves CJ Parajuli of his responsibility

Gopal ParajuliKathmandu / Mar 14: The Judicial Council has relieved Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli of his responsibility on Wednesday. The Council issuing a letter in this connection signed by the Council’s Secretary Nripa Dhoj Niraula declared Parajuli’s removal from the post while he was administering the oath of office and secrecy to Bidya Devi Bhandari, who was re-elected as president for the second term on Tuesday, at Sheetal Niwas.

According to the letter signed by Secretary Niraula, CJ Parajuli is relieved of his responsibility by the decision of secretary-level. The Council has made the decision on the basis of his age limit. According to the letter, CJ Parajuli had already crossed the age of 65 on August 5, 2017. It has been stated in the letter that after verification of his birth and academic certificate that showed him having attained the superannuation age seven months ago.
