Ban on 20-year-old public vehicles from today

Air PollutionKathmandu / Mar 15: Public vehicles running for over 20 years will be banned from all operations, starting today. The government has executed a policy to ban public vehicles crossing 20 years of operation and authorities will seize any such vehicles found on the roads.

According to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, a directive was forwarded to the administration to seize such vehicles and bring them under due legal process.

This decision, however, has been challenged by National Federation of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs stating that the directive was improper and that operation of over 20-year-old vehicles would continue.
