Nepalis in Lhasa request PM to address citizenship, passport issues
Lhasa / June 22: Nepalis residing in Tibet, the autonomous region of the People’s Republic of China, have urged Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to take initiations to address problems concerning citizenship and passport they have been facing.
Apprising the Prime Minister that they were in trouble due to the passport and citizenship issues, they placed a request before him to resolve the issue.
The Prime Minister, who is presently on a six-day official visit to China, arrived in Lhasa this morning. At the programme organised by the Lhasa-based Nepali Consulate General, the Nepali business community apprised the PM and his delegation about vivid aspects relating to bilateral trade, commerce and assistance.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli said that he was ready to address the concerns of Nepali community and hold discussion with the government of Tibet in this regard.
Present on the occasion were Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa, Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Barshaman Pun, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Raghubir Mahaseth, as well as other members in the Prime Minister’s entourage.
