Vesawkar to play cricket in US
Kathmandu, July 10: Sharad Vesawkar, the middle order batsman for Nepal national cricket team is set to feature in Washington Cricket League to prepare for the upcoming England and the Netherlands tour. The right-handed all-rounder tweeted to thank former Nepal head coach Pubudu Dassanayake for arranging the stint. Dassnayake is currently coaching the United States (US).
Vesawkar, who was named in the 20-man preliminary squad for the T20I triangular series in Lord’s and Nepal’s inaugural ODI series against the Netherlands, will be available for selection following his stint in Washington’s premier cricket league. A host of former international stars like Mohammad Asif (Paksitan), Salman Butt (Paksitan), Rusty Theron (South Africa) as well as current Indian Premier League players like Bipul Sharma (Sunrisers Hyderabad), Sarbjit Ladda (former Kings XI Punjab), etc are already part of Washington’s marquee cricket event.

Vesawkar has been living in US since last few months along with her wife Nisha Adhikari due to birth of their first child. He missed the Dhangadhi Premier League (DPL) and Inter-provincial Prime Minister Cup (PM Cup) in the mean time. Washington Premier League will be his first involvement in professional competitive cricket after the ICC World Cup Qualifier held earlier this year in Zimbabwe.
