Speaking at the Committee’s meeting on Sunday, parliamentarian Yogesh Bhattarai opined for forwarding the bill as per the aspiration of the agreement.

He added that provision of monitoring the process of providing affiliation to new medical colleges and making the medical education accessible to all was positive to all and the essence of the agreement should be incorporated while advancing the bill.

Similarly, another member at the sub-committee Chitra Lekha Yadav also seconded the view of Bhattarai.

Other lawmakers have suggested the sub-committee to develop the bill with the provision of 75 percent free quotas to students while only 25 percent seats for payment in each medical college. Responding to the quarries of lawmakers, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel said that the Ministry will reach a conclusion regarding the issues after consulting with the opposition parties as well.
