Prez administers oath to newly appointed Nepal’s ambassador to India

Nilambar Acharya OaththKathmandu / Feb 3: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to Nilambar Acharya at the Office of the President, Shital Niwas.

Acharya was appointed as Nepal’s ambassador to India on November 12, 2018. He was appointed as a member of Eminent Persons Group from the Nepali Congress quota when KP Sharma Oli was the prime minister in 2016.

The newly appointed ambassador served as law minister in the interim government formed under Krishna Prasad Bhattarai after the popular movement of 1990. He had served as Nepal’s envoy to Sri Lanka from October 1996 and April 2000.
