Nepal is suitable for investment: Finance Minster
Kathmandu / August 14: Finance Minister Dr Yubraj Khatiwada has said that Nepal holds a suitable atmosphere for investment.
Minister Khatiwada during a meeting with the ambassador to Nepal, Saeed Hamdan Al Naqei, called on the entrepreneurs of UAE to invest in the infrastructure and industrial sector.
“Furthermore, irrigation, energy, tourism and agriculture sectors are highly appropriate for investment,” he added.
During the meet, he also said that Nepal is planning to export exclusive goods such as fresh vegetables and fruits, clean Himalayan water, etc to the UAE.
Minister Khatiwada, during the meeting, took an opportunity to convey the invitation to the finance minister of UAE to visit Nepal.
He also urged the people of the UAE to visit Nepal during the Visit Nepal-2020.
Ambassador Al Naqei also invited Minister Khatiwada on behalf of the finance minister of the UAE. In the conversation, he highlighted the need for the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) between the two nations to attract investment in Nepal’s aviation and other sectors. Responding to him, Minister Khatiwada reiterated that Nepal is open for discussion in the issue.
The UAE government is interested in constructing five dry-ports in Nepal, ambassador Al Naqei informed.
The meeting was focused on strengthening bilateral relations.
