Maha Prasad Adhikari becomes 17th governor of Nepal Rastra Bank
Kathmandu / Apr. 6: The government has appointed Maha Prasad Adhikari as the 17th governor of Nepal Rastra Bank.
A meeting of the cabinet on Monday decided to appoint Adhikari to the top central bank job. He is currently serving as the chief executive officer of Nepal Investment Board. His term was expiring in June 22 this year. Before joining the IBN, he served as the deputy governor of NRB.
The incumbent deputy governor Chinta Mani Siwakoti and former former secretary Keshav Bhattarai were also in the fray to become the NRB governor.
