COVID-19 update: 3,517 new cases and 4,096 recoveries in 24 hours

Kathmandu / Oct. 30: With 3,517 new cases of the novel coronavirus infection confirmed on Friday, the national COVID-19 caseload has reached 168,235.

“In 14,989 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 3,517 persons, 1,361 females and 2,156 males, were found to have been infected with SARS-CoV-2,” informed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its update.

Currently, there 38,357 are active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 31,387 are in home isolation. Some 300 COVID-19 patients are admitted to the ICU while 71 are receiving treatment with ventilator facility. A total of 2,666 persons are currently placed in quarantine.

Meanwhile, 4,096 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 128,958 cases of recoveries and the recovery rate stands at 76.7 per cent.

As many as 16 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours and with this, the national COVID-19 related death tally has reached 920.

1,888 new cases in Kathmandu valley

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Friday confirmed 1,888 new cases of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley.

In 14,989 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done across the nation in the last 24 hours, as many as 1,888 persons, 781 females and 1,107 males, were found with the novel coronavirus infection in the Valley, informed the MoHP in its update.

Currently, there are 16,242 active cases of COVID-19 in Kathmandu. The capital city’s COVID-19 tally stands at 60,742 including 44,288 cases of recoveries and 212 fatalities.

Likewise, Bhaktapur has recorded 5,650 infections until now of which, 4,422 patients have already recovered while 63 succumbed to the infection. There are 1,165 active cases in Bhaktapur.

Lalitpur district has recorded 8,599 cases of novel coronavirus infection until now including 6,196 recoveries and 58 deaths. Currently, there are 2,345 active cases in Lalitpur.
