COVID-19 update: 502 new cases, 2,878 recoveries and 17 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu / Nov. 17: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Tuesday reported 502 new cases of COVID-19. The national COVID-19 tally has now reached 211,475.

“As many as 502 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours,” informed the ministry in its daily update.

Currently, there are 30,986 active cases of COVID-19 and 1,003, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine across the nation.

Meanwhile, 2,878 COVID-19 patients either receiving treatment at various institutional isolations or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded a total of 179,242 recoveries.

Moreover, 17 persons succumbed to the novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll to 1,247.

Kathmandu valley reports 339 cases

A total of 339 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in the three districts of Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday.

Of the total infections, 146 are females and 193 are males.

In the last 24 hours, 289 cases were recorded from Kathmandu district while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 38 and 12 cases respectively.

The number of active cases in Kathmandu is 13321 while that of Lalitpur and Bhaktapur are 2079 and 1135 respectively.
