Active cases of COVID-19 hit 1,613 with 128 new infections

Kathmandu / Apr. 3: The Ministry of Health and Population on Saturday confirmed 128 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation’s novel coronavirus tally to 277,768.

“In 2,727 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 128 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2,” informed the Ministry of Health and Population in the regular press briefing.

Currently, there are 1,613 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation and 59 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.

Meanwhile, 161 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 273,123 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98.3 per cent.

Moreover, one COVID-19 related fatality was recorded in the last 24 hours, currently, the nation’s COVID-19 death toll is at 3,032.
