Nepal records 2,456 new cases, 1,929 recoveries and 27 deaths on Tuesday


Kathmandu / August 17: Nepal recorded 2,456 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday along with 1,929 recoveries and 27 deaths, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

As many as 17,689 COVID-19 tests were conducted on Tuesday. Of them 2,456 PCR tests and 818 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly infection.

There are currently 41,267 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Of them, 36,575 are in home isolation, 3,296 in institutional isolation, 790 in ICUs and 191 on ventilators as of Tuesday afternoon.

Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,033 new cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 673 cases were detected in Kathmandu, 141 in Bhaktapur and 219 in Lalitpur districts.
