Unilever Nepal and Maiti Nepal to make women employable through their initiative ‘Asha’

Kathmandu / Dec 8: Unilever Nepal Limited has partnered with Maiti Nepal with an inititative to generate employability among women of society, who have been victims of human trafficking or domestic abuse, in order to increase and improve their social, economic and legal strengths. The initiative titled ‘Asha’ aims to provide sustainable income-generating avenues for these women through various training programs under the initiative brought in coordination between Unilever Nepal and Maiti Nepal.

The women will undergo an intense training program under the guidance of experts from renowned brands of Beauty Parlors, excavator driving and sales training. They will also be provided with the accommodation in Maiti Nepal Rehabilitation Center during their training period.

The program was inaugurated by Anuradha Koirala (founder of Maiti Nepal) and Amlan Mukherjee (Managing Director of Unilever Nepal Limited) and was graced by the presence of local community experts on 6th December 2021 at Maiti Nepal.
