Nepal Police gears up preparations for election, proposes to recruit 120,000 temporary police personnel

Kathmandu / Aug. 12: With the announcement of elections to the federal and provincial parliaments for November 20, the government bodies have geared up the preparation to this regard.

In this connection, the Nepal Police has come up with the proposal of 120,000 temporary police persons for the security assistance. It has intensified plans to ensure utmost security arrangement for the election.

The Home Ministry has been proposed for the arrangement of temporary police persons. The number of police persons demanded is more by 20,000 as compared to the one demanded during the local level election.

However, Inspector General of Nepal Police, Dhiraj Pratap Singh said the exact number of temporary police persons demanded for security assistance could be ascertained again. “Nepal Police is now concentrating on the election. Necessary proposals like that of security assistants, cost needed for them, mobilization of police persons and other necessary things have been submitted to the Home Ministry,” he added. RSS
