Cent per cent paddy transplantation in 24 districts
Kathmandu / Aug. 15: Thanks to timely and sufficient rainfall, transplantation of paddy, the major staple crop of the country has concluded enthusiastically.
Paddy transplantation has taken place in 75 of the 77 districts except for the two districts of Manang and Mustang.
Hundred per cent transplantation of paddy has been held in 24 districts of the country, according to the Department of Agriculture. In Nepal, paddy is cultivated on about 1.6 million hectares of land.
This year paddy has been transplanted on 1.417 million hectares of land. During the same period last year, paddy was transplanted on 1.342 million hectares of land. So it is 74, 312 hectares more this year than the previous year. (RSS)
