27% paddy plantation to date

Kathmandu / July 7: The paddy plantation has been done some 27 per cent to date for this year. This is 13 per cent less than the previous year.

The spokesperson at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Prakash Kumar Sanjel, informed that the data on paddy plantation was collected with the coordination of provinces. The plantation of rice was delayed this year due to delayed monsoon in Madhes Province, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province, he added.

Generally, the paddy plantation continues till July 31. So, the country will have paddy plantation on the full scale, the ministry estimates. RSS
