Acting PM Khadka directs for immediate resumption of traffic
Kathmandu / July 26 : Acting Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Purna Bahadur Khadka has directed the authorities concerned to put in place measures to prevent losses of lives and properties from landslides, floods and immediately resume the obstructed highway.
At a meeting held at the Defense Ministry today, he asked the agencies concerned to emphatically place disaster preparedness measures.
On the occasion, concerned officials briefed the Acting Prime Minister about the incidents of landslides and floods occurred at different places of the country, losses of lives and properties due to the natural calamities and disruption of road traffic.
Acting Prime Minister Khadka asked the authorities concerned to carry out rescue and relief operations with high priority.
He directed the agencies to swiftly distribute reliefs to the victims.
He stressed the security agencies and government mechanisms should keep integrated efforts for the management of disaster.
Home Minister, Chief Secretary, Chief of the Army Staff, Defense Secretary, Home Secretary, chiefs of security bodies, and officials of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority were present in the meeting presided over by acting PM and Defense Minister Khadka. (RSS)
