NSO projects Nepal’s economic growth rate at 3.54 percent in current FY

Kathmandu / April 30: The National Statistics Office (NSO) has estimated that Nepal’s economy will grow by 3.54 percent (at constant price) in the current fiscal year.

Unveiling its report on Tuesday, the NSO has estimated the country’s economic growth rate, which is more than the growth rate of 2.31 percent that the country achieved in FY 2022/23. At the consumer price, the growth rate this year will be 3.87 percent.

The NSO figure is lower than the estimation made by the government. The government has projected an economic growth rate of four percent this year, while the World Bank has estimated it at 3.3 percent.

The NSO has estimated that Nepal’s GDP will attain the size of Rs 5.748 trillion by the end of the current FY. Agriculture sector will grow by 3.05 percent, while the non-agriculture sector will grow by 3.75 percent.
