Lumbini province lawmaker KC sent to prison on a 33-year-old case

Kathmandu / Sept 8: Member of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly Dhan Bahadur KC has been sent to prison on a 33-year-old case.

Provincial lawmaker KC of Rukum East 1 (B) constituency, surrendered at the Rukum East District Court on Sunday. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Madhab Kharel of Rukum East said that KC has been sent to prison on Sunday.

On June 23, 1991, the former Rukum District Court convicted KC in case of forgery in a property dispute with his wife, slapping a one-year jail-term and imposing a fine of Rs 2,000. However, KC had neither paid the fine nor served the sentence. Although he was on the fugitive list of the police for a long time, he was not arrested.

Lawmaker KC was elected from the provincial constituency no 1 (B) of Rukum East as a candidate of the Nepali Congress party in the last general election. He was on the absconding list since then.
