Govt warns of action against those spreading misleading info via social media


Kathmandu / Nov 29: The Home Ministry has warned of action against those spreading misleading and malafide information via social networking sites and disturbing social harmony.

Issuing a press statement on Friday, the Home Ministry said anyone involved in the activities that jeopardise social harmony, dignity and public order would be brought to book.

The Ministry further said its attention was drawn towards the misleading and illegal information spread by some persons via social networking sites.

It reminded everyone to be aware of the legal provision against the information that damages public morality, and subverts good relations among the ethnicities and religious communities. The libel warrants action, the Ministry reminded in a statement. RSS
