The KMC on Tuesday has also placed air pollution measuring devices in Chhatrapati Free Clinic Hospital of ward no-17 and Shanti Vidya Griha Secondary School, of Ward-26, Lainchaur.

The Environmental Management Department of KMC in collaboration with the Partnership for Healthy Cities, has installed equipment to monitor air quality throughout the metropolitan area.

Healthy Cities is a global network of 70 cities committed to saving lives by preventing non-communicable diseases and injuries. The KMC is a member of this network.

The Clarity Node-S air quality sensors provide real-time data on the PM 2.5 levels in the air. These devices run on solar energy and the data generated from this is sent to the Dashboard of the KMC. The KMC has planned to make the data provided by the tools accessible to the public through the web portal and mobile application.
