SC annuls EC’s decision to reject candidacy of Toshima Karki

Kathmandu / March 11: The Supreme Court (SC) has annulled the Election Commission’s (EC) decision to reject the candidacy of Toshima Karki, a member of parliament from the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
A bench of Justices Manoj Kumar Sharma and Mahesh Sharma Paudel rejected the two and half year old decision of EC to invalidate Karki’s candidacy.
At that time, due to an interim order from the SC, Karki’s candidacy remained unchanged and she was elected from Lalitpur-3 in the contest.
Following this SC decision, her position has become secure.
