Around 13 million Nepalis use 4G internet services: NTA

Kathmandu / Nov 22: Around 37 percent of the internet users in the country have been using 4G services with the telecommunication companies aggressively expanding the service across the country.

According to the records with the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), 12.86 million individuals have been using the 4G internet service as of mid-October. It accounts for 37.45 percent of the total internet users i.e 34.33 million in the country.

Of the 4G internet users, over 6.63 million people use the services of Nepal Telecom– the largest of all the services. The government-owned telecommunication company has been offering its 4G services from all the 77 districts across the country. It was successful in increasing the number of its clients by 71.5 percent during mid-July and mid-October, according to the NTA.

Similarly, Ncell has been providing its 4G internet services to more than six million people, an increase from over five million of its customers in the review period. The private sector company has been providing mobile broadband service to its clients.
