Only vehicles with permission to be allowed to ply on voting day
Kathmandu / May 6: The Election Commission (EC), Nepal has approved the ‘Measure pertaining to vehicles mobility management on the voting day of the local level election, 2079.’
According to the Measure, in addition to the vehicles for the essential services, candidates and their representatives are allowed to drive the vehicles on the voting day, May 13.
The permission for driving the vehicles on the voting day will be issued by the chief election officer or election officer and chief district officer in the format fixed by the EC.
The EC has said that for the permission to be issued by the CDO in Kathmandu, a letter should be submitted at the unified vehicles mobility desk established at the EC premises.
Application for permission to use/drive vehicles should be submitted by May 11.
No vehicles with foreign number plates will be given permission whereas vehicles for essential services such as ambulances, water tankers, and fire engine as well as the vehicles of the diplomatic missions do not need to take any permission.
The measure specifies that the security forces can take under control the vehicles being used violating the measure.
