Nepal sends 22 tons of relief materials for Turkey quake victims

Kathmandu / Feb 13: Nepal has sent some 22 tons of relief materials to Turkey.

The relief materials include medicine, medical equipment and warm clothes for the victims of the earthquake that rattled Turkey and Syria recently killing over 27,000 people and damaging properties worth billions of dollars.

Following the devastating tremor in Turkey and Syria on February 6, the government has decided to send relief materials expressing solidarity with the rescue and rehabilitation works there.

Earlier on February 8, Foreign Minister Dr. Bimala Rai Paudyal had telephoned her Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu and expressed condolences to the loss of lives and properties owing to the devastating quake and assured of helps from Nepal.
