Government’s spending 7.5 per cent in two months of current fiscal year

Kathmandu / Sept 17: The government’s expenditure in the first two months of the current fiscal year 2081-82 BS (2024-25) is around 7.5 per cent.

According to the Office of the Auditor General, the government spent 7.39 percent of the total allocations or Rs 137.5 billion till September 16.

The government has presented the budget of 1860 billion 303 million for the current fiscal year. The expenditures towards the capital expenditures are 82 billion 986.05 million or 7.28 percent of the total allocations of Rs 1140 billion 660 million.

Towards the capital expenditures, the allocation amounts to Rs 352 billion 350 million and the expenditures till mid-September is 4.23 per cent or Rs 14 billion 894 million.

Towards the financial management, the allocations amount to Rs 367 billion 284.5 million and the amount of the expenditure to Rs 39 billion 672.2 million makes up 10.8 per cent.

In the given period, the revenue collections are 11.52 per cent of the annual target. The government has set the target of garnering 1471 billion 629.5 million and the collections till September 16 amount to 169 billion 517.9 million.

Of the revenue collected during this period, 11.31% of the annual target has been collected as tax revenue, which amounts to NPR 145 billion 1.9 million. The government has set an annual target of Rs 1284 billion 209 million.

Similarly, for non-tax revenue, the annual target is Rs 135 billion 93 million and the collection is 21 billion 194 million which makes up 15.69 per cent of the target.

In the current fiscal year, the government is set to garner Rs 52 billion 326.5 million as foreign grants and the collection so far is nil.RSS
