Oli meets Chinese PM Li Keqiang; Nepal and China sign agreements on 10 topics including railway, energy
Beijing / June 21: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is on a six-day official visit to China, met his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Thursday.
On the occasion, the two countries signed agreements on 10 different topics including one on the construction of railway. Four memorandum of understandings were also exchanged during the occasion.
The agreement reached between the two sides also includes promoting energy cooperation. They have also reached understanding regarding the use of highway in Tibet, energy, economic and technical cooperation and human resources development.
Prime Minister Oli receives Guard of Honour in Beijing
Meanwhile, a guard of honour was accorded to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing today.
PM Oli, who is on a six-day official visit to China, received the guard of honour on the third day of his visit. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang was present on the occasion.
Earlier, PM Oli had met with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Li Zhanshu.
In the meeting, the two leaders held discussions on matters of bilateral and mutual interests. Prime Minister Oli also congratulated Li Zhanshu on his election to the post and wished for his successful tenure.
Chairman Li, on the other hand, inquired about the post-quake reconstruction projects and their progress in Nepal.
Nepalese delegates were also present at the meeting.
