National COVID-19 tally reaches 402 with 27 new cases
Kathmandu / May 19: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed 27 more cases of COVID-19, taking the national tally to 402.
27 new cases have been dectected in 13 districts including Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur, said Dr Bikash Devkota, spokesperson for the Ministry in the daily press briefing today.
According to Dr Devkota, three new cases of virus infection were identified in Kathmandu, nine in Jhapa, four in Kapilvastu, two in Sarlahi and one each in Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Makwanpur, Morang, Sunsari, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Lamjung and Nawalparasi.
“Out of 27, 24 are males and three are females,” said Dr. Devkota. “All of them belong to age group from 17 to 42 years.”
Health condition of all patients is normal and they are in contact with health workers, he added.
With this, cases of COVID-19 have been detected in 36 districts of Nepal. The total number of cases has reached 402 including 340 males and 62 females. Until now, Nepal has recorded two deaths from COVID-19 and 37 cases of recovery.
The remaining patients are receiving treatment at various hospitals in different places of the country.
