NRNA to extend supports for rebuilding Laprak

nrnGorkha / March 8: The Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) is to support to rebuild Laprak village in Gorkha district that was damaged from the April 25 ‘Gorkha Earthquake’.

Chairman of NRNA Shesh Ghale reached Laprak on Monday along with Australian Senator Shyam Pastory, Member of the Reconstruction Authority Nepal, Chandra Bahadur Shrestha, and Nepal’s Honorary Consul General to Australia, Deepak Kumar Khadka, and made such commitment to support in reconstruction of Laprak village.

The team also enquired about the condition and expectations of the quake survivors in Gupsipakha and Laprak.

“We failed to build houses as the government delayed in giving us permission. We want to make a well-systematic Laprak soon,” Ghale said on the occasion. The NRNA is preparing to build 500 plus houses for quake-hit individuals, schools and other community buildings in Laprak village.

On the occasion, Shrestha said that the Authority is working with high-speed and the grant amount to build the houses would be given before the onset of rainy season. He said that the tasks of reconstruction would begin only after sending the geologists for the geological formations of the area.

The quake-survivors of Laprak area residing in Gupsi by constructing camps and the government has already decided to provide land plots to the folks of Laprak for building houses. However, some quake-survivors of Laprak have returned to their place from Gupsi. RSS
